ALI CEO Lastyo Lukito with Mari Elka Pangestu,
Former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia

On May 9, 2025, Agrotek Lestari Internasional (ALI Innovate), represented by CEO Mr. Lastyo Lukito in his role as Chairman of the Association of Carbon Emission Experts Indonesia (ACEXI), joined a high-level stakeholder meeting titled Strengthening the Carbon Pricing Ecosystem. The meeting took place at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta and was convened by the Indonesia Climate and Growth Dialogue (ICGD), in collaboration with the Office of the Presidential Special Envoy for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation and the Office of the Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy.

The dialogue gathered key stakeholders from across sectors, including Dr. Eddy Soeparno, Secretary General of the National Mandate Party; representatives from the Singapore and UK embassies; as well as officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Industry, and the Office of the Coordinating Minister for Food of the Republic of Indonesia. Their presence reflected a broad and growing national consensus on the urgency of aligning climate action with Indonesia’s economic growth trajectory.

ALI Innovate’s participation reflected its firm commitment to advancing sustainability as a central tenet of national development. The discussions emphasized the need to strengthen the alignment between carbon market mechanisms and Indonesia’s national carbon emission reduction targets, while creating the enabling conditions for inclusive green growth. There was strong support for nature-based solutions, such as optimizing the country’s vast mangrove forests and peatlands as critical pathways for sustainable carbon offsetting. Equally highlighted was the importance of transitioning to renewable energy sources, with commitments from the national utility to scale up clean energy generation in the coming years.

The meeting also underscored the need for clear regulatory direction and market signals to support both voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Effective pricing mechanisms were identified as essential to treat carbon as a tradable commodity, ensuring credibility, transparency, and investor confidence. With that, participants acknowledged the increasing international interest in investing in Indonesia’s carbon market, reinforcing the country’s potential to position itself as a leader in sustainable carbon finance across the region.

Mr. Lastyo Lukito’s presence at the forum as chairman of ACEXI affirms ALI Innovate’s active role in supporting the development of an integrated, science-informed, and internationally aligned carbon ecosystem. As a sustainability-driven organization, ALI Innovate remains committed to contributing to constructive national dialogues and to supporting the policies and partnerships needed to realize a low-carbon, resilient future for Indonesia.
